Increasing numbers of women in the UK are taking to having their thread veins removed during their lunch hour. The demand is probably partly due to the fantastic weather that the UK has experienced recently, with many women wanting to put their skirts and heels on, but not before they ensure they have perfect pins.
One of the most popular techniques is said to be thermo-coagulation which uses a microwave to zap the unsightly veins. The veins themselves are caused by abnormally dilated blood vessels which are located close to the skin’s surface.

A new study published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has predicted that by 2015, 17 percent of people in the US will have undergone cosmetic surgery treatment – that’s nearly one fifth of the population.
The study, which is based on US Census Bureau population predictions, estimates that there will be over 55 million cosmetic surgery procedures performed in 2015. In 2007, Americans spent over $13 billion on cosmetic procedures and despite the downturn in the global economy, these figures are predicted to rise.

According to Reuters, despite worries over the state of the economy, US cosmetic surgeons are still seeing strong demand for their services. Fears over the credit crunch have even brought them a new type of client – people who have recently lost their jobs and want to look good for interviews.
