US Authorities have reportedly launched an investigation into a cosmetic surgeon who has been using the fat siphoned off from his liposuction patients for use in his car. Dr. Alan Bittner, a well known Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, has been turning the fat into biodiesel for use in his car.
Bittner has written on his website that many of his patients encourage him to use their excess fat and that by doing so, he is helping to save the planet through the use of his ‘lipodiesel.’

Recent research has disproved the widely held theory that antioxidants are able to help slow down or even stop the ageing process.
Many believe that anti-oxidants can help fight the ageing process by helping to neutralize the stress on cells caused by free radicals. However Dr. Gems and his team at the Institute of Healthy Ageing at University College, London, in conjunction with the Wellcome Trust, have recently concluded that antioxidants are not as effective as first thought.

Having plastic surgery abroad is becoming increasingly popular – not only does it tend to be cheaper than in the home country but also allows the patient to recuperate in the sun and away from their friends and family.
However according to the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, surgical holidays are causing the UK’s National Health Service dear with hundreds said to have had their botched overseas cosmetic surgery fixed free of charge on the NHS.

Recent rumours have it that Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, are not seeing eye to eye on a cosmetic surgery issue.
The twins, who have recently returned to the spotlight to promote their new book, Influence, are said to be arguing over breast implants. It is understood that Ashley is considering having her breasts augmented and is attempting to persuade her sister to have surgery at the same time so that it is not so obvious that she has had cosmetic surgery.

The eyebrow transplant is one of the latest cosmetic crazes. Fashion these days tends towards strong, defined eyebrows and for those who have plucked their eyebrows into tiny lines, help is at hand!
The eyebrow transplant takes a couple of hours to complete and normally costs in the region of $4,000. Hair is taken from the back of the patient’s head and the follicles extracted. The surgeon will then make tiny incisions in and around the eyebrow to create the new shapes, with the holes specially angled to indicate the way the hair should grow. Follicle by follicle, the donor hairs are planted into these eyebrow holes with up to 350 needed per eyebrow.
